Polyurethane is an artificial polymer made up of tiny three dimensional structures called monomers. It’s base materials are carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. The structures polymerize (which means the materials hook into each other) and therefore create a repeating chain reaction. The result of this dynamic compound is a sturdy and durable coating, while also retaining it’s flexibility.
To make the material sturdy it is made up of two component materials. A solid component and a soft component combined together make the compound strong but flexible and extremely wear resistant. The amount of solid and soft component used in the mixture is adjustable which means the material can be used voor a wide range of applications.
